Welcome to Wednesday’s flash fiction wherein I write as part of a group based on the same short prompt and post them. Here’s my contribution.

At last. She straightened as Chid appeared from within the Copper Shield. He paused looking behind, blast him. Hadn’t he wasted enough time? At least the fool turned back . . .

And stumble laughing into the street. Rushing forward, she groaned as alcohol wafted off him. “Fool. Did you outdrink the entire Masym guard?” Grabbing his arm, she hauled him away.

“Fool!” he said overly loud. His face scrunched with thought. “Aye, but I learned of Deorman’s rising.”

“Good.” She grinned. Her patience was paying off after all. Or would if the drink didn’t addle his memory beyond recall.

Don’t forget to read the other’s takes on the prompt. More stories go up throughout the day. Be sure to check our page on Facebook for updates as everything becomes available: WonHundred Words.
