As she searched, her movements were frantic. Maria itched under the silent, stern audience monitoring the ever widening circle of chaos that had been neatly packed trunks. Twenty years, more negotiators than she could name, and the foul-sworn document was missing. It wouldn’t turn up.
Maria would never admit her energy was fueled by amusement, not anxiety. Nor remind them of the spare treaty tucked within the pages of her compendium carried everywhere. Just as she had not mentioned Travis neglecting to pack the original. They didn’t need the assistance and her loyalties was to the princess, not these fools.
