Devil’s Moon

The Devil's Name is Fred.

Welcome to Time Warp Saturday. I join the WonHundred Word Wednesday group after it had begun. For the several weeks I will be doing posts for the prompts from before I began. Here is my entry for April 2, 2014.

The devil’s name is Fred. Why Fred? It’s unassuming and unthreatening. Most won’t even think twice about someone called Fred. That’s what he wants. Misdirection is his greatest weapon. Whenever someone doesn’t look, doesn’t get what he truly is, he wins.

I should know. I fell for it and sold my soul. I’d be in his Hell right now if it hadn’t been for Gran. Instead, I live in a purgatory of my own making knowing she took the place I’d earned. But the serpent will learn. Tonight the Devil’s Moon rises again, and I’m bringing my hell to him.

If you haven’t already, check out the rest from the present!
