Glimpses: Tales from Fyretober 2021

We’re halfway there! I’m delighted to present volume four of the series, Glimpses: Tales from Fyretober 2021. With over ten years’ worth of flash fiction stories, themes emerged. This volume claimed a theme a bit different from the proceeding volumes. Previous entries presented tales written with specific tones or sets of characters. These stories center around a time and a challenge.

Where the stories in this collection where not written for my weekly tales, they didn’t have the normal weekly rules. Yes, they were inspired by writing prompts, but they were written as part of an event. In these tales I allowed myself more room (and less time) to create the tales. Some are longer, and some are shorter.

Sometimes, embracing a new challenge is part of the writing journey. These tales came seven years into my writing flash fiction, and they definitely provided a change of pace: daily stories. This challenge aided my longer works (drafts of book ones in five different universes. And some book twos!) by helping me to craft new ideas even more quickly.
