Eyes

You have his eyes

Welcome to Wednesday’s flash fiction wherein I write, as part of a group, a flash fiction based on the same short prompt and post the story. I hope you enjoy this week’s contribution.

As the door banged open reverberating, I leaned back adjusting my grip on the chain. “You have his eyes.” The woman said the words coyly from the doorway.

Shrugging, I tugged the chain and the boy out of the shadows. “Kaolis knew payment was due. I took it.”

“He’ll not be able to pay again with your theft.” She moved with practiced seductiveness. Uninspired.

I snorted. “I won’t need his payments. Not with the seer. Our business’ done.”

Expression hardening, she reached for her sword. My guard broke from the shadows wrenching her arms up. “Nor will he surprise me.”

Don’t forget to read the other’s takes on the prompt. More stories go up throughout the day. Be sure to check our page on Facebook for updates as everything becomes available: WonHundred Words.
