Welcome to Wednesday’s flash fiction wherein I write as part of a group based on the same short prompt and post them. Here’s my contribution.
“Excuse me?” She sputtered stepping to move past. Slouching uninterestedly, the man somehow blocked her again.
“You don’t want to live in a society like this,” he repeated.
Tsking, she rapped her umbrella. “Perhaps you don’t realize who my great-grandfather was.” He must be simple to accost her so.
He chuckled. “The founder, I know.”
“Still you insist I be displeased here?” She tucked her umbrella tightly against her with a scowl. Surely even this wastrel couldn’t miss her hint to move on.
“Of all people, miss.” Checking his watch, he tilted his hat. “Till later,” he said moving away.
Don’t forget to read the other’s takes on the prompt. More stories go up throughout the day. Be sure to check our page on Facebook for updates as everything becomes available: WonHundred Words.
