Welcome to Wednesday’s flash fiction wherein I write as part of a group based on the same short prompt and post them. Here’s my contribution.
She leaned forward in her thrown as Ceithin was dragged before her. Obviously, she had overestimated him. There hadn’t even been time to give word of his assault.
He skid from the force as her guard threw him down. Grinning, she shifted eagerly in her chair.
Turning his head, Ceithin spat blood across the tiles. “Kera,” he said straightening and moving to rise.
She scowled. “How dare you presume.” Her guards shoved him down again.
Ceithim moved to rise again, her men dropping before she could cry out. “I’ll dare as many times as it takes to stop a pretender.”
Don’t forget to read the other’s takes on the prompt. More stories go up throughout the day. Be sure to check our page on Facebook for updates as everything becomes available: WonHundred Words.
