Hacking Gown

Give me one good reason why I should wear a dress

Welcome to Wednesday’s flash fiction wherein I write, as part of a group, a flash fiction based on the same short prompt and post the story. I hope you enjoy this week’s contribution.

I heard footsteps and fabric rustling at the door. “No,” I staying focused on my code.

“But–” Hankle started.

I cut him off. “No.”

He gave a half grunt, half sigh and thumped over. “You have to.”

I looked up and scowled the dress in his arms. “Give me one good reason why.” I switched back to trying to hack the system.

“Because you’re never breaking through from here, but if we get you in their ball. . .” He proffered the gown.

I huffed. We had to get through and he was right. “Fine. Give me the thing.”

Don’t forget to read the other’s takes on the prompt. More stories go up throughout the day. Be sure to check our page on Facebook for updates as everything becomes available: WonHundred Words.
