Today’s Horoscope: Your prized possession will end up in someone else’s hands.
I wish I’d never read those words or been so superstitious. I might not have given away all my worldly possessions. If I prized no object, it couldn’t be taken and I wouldn’t be hurt. Or so I’d thought.
I was wrong.
It happened as the last truckload was leaving and before the realtor arrived with the first prospective homebuyers. It had charity coordinator’s smile, his sincere, amazed gratitude. Just that and my most prized possession was gone before I realized what it was. He had my heart.
