Mirror and Lies

I felt afraid of what we might find

Welcome to Wednesday’s flash fiction wherein I write as part of a group based on the same short prompt and post them. Here’s my contribution.

Twisting through rocks, I felt afraid of what we might find. Not the mirror. I’d hide it, but it’s reflections were . . . unpredictable. Would it keep my secret? Could I stay? Still, I worked deeper the caverns following Ferryl.

“It’s here!” I heard his voice cry excitedly. I found him before the mirror, hand pressed against the glass. “We can reveal Seath’s lies.”

His eyes widen when he saw my reflection. Saw through my lie. I rested my hand on his shoulder. “Yes,” I said, “You can.” I, however, would be moving on. Even angels can’t hide forever.

Don’t forget to read the other’s takes on the prompt. More stories go up throughout the day. Be sure to check our page on Facebook for updates as everything becomes available: WonHundred Words.
