What is WonHundred Word Wednesdays? It’s when a group of amazing authors and I write 100 word stories all based on the same short prompt and post them. All the variations are fun to read. Here is my entry for the week.

Cassie ran, breather hardly impeding after a year’s practice. She’d steal a ship and leave this gods cursed planet, if there was one. Supply wasn’t due for months though. Breather, filters, and pack would have to suffice.

The stitch in her side finally rivaled her fear. As she stopped to catch her breath, she looked back. Everything was still, quiet. She missed birds’ reassuring chirps. Everything was too silent here.

Isolation sickness they’d said. She was unstable. It happened. She’d recover.

She’d be damned before she believed them though. Her mythical namesake might have stayed too long, but she wouldn’t.
