Haunts

You've only heard his point of view. You never asked mine

What is WonHundred Word Wednesdays? It’s when a group of amazing authors and I write 100 word stories all based on the same short prompt and post them. All the variations are fun to read.

I shuffled the papers. “Go away.” I didn’t look up. The clock ticking was the only sound. Could she have left?

Glancing up, I checked. Nope. She was perched on the chair. Her leg, which normally manically swung, was still. Useful since it kept the wrongness of her leg moving through cloth away. “What do you want?” I asked.

“You’ve only heard his point of view. You never asked mine.” Her echoing words chilled my skin. Ghosts.

“Would hearing have made a difference? You’re dead.”

“That doesn’t excuse rudeness.” She sniffed, fading for now. No chance she’d found an afterlife.

Don’t forget to read the other’s takes on the prompt. More stories go up throughout the day. Be sure to check our page on Facebook for updates as everything becomes available: WonHundred Words.
