Champion

I definitely need one of those

Welcome to Wednesday’s flash fiction wherein I write, as part of a group, a flash fiction based on the same short prompt and post the story. Here’s my contribution.

Mirisalie’s waved her hand igniting a bonfire in the cavern’s pit. Her imps dove into the flames. At least someone was pleased.

Further in the cavern she knelt at the clear pool. “Mistress, it went poorly?” a voice inquired.

She peered at wavering figure. “An optimistic assessment.” She waved at the ragged walls. “Behold my kingdom.”

“Perhaps some inspiration.” His visage disappeared showing her others who paved the path before her.

“No, heroes defeated them all.” It shifted showing a knight battling for his lady. A champion, yes. She needed a champion, not mindless minions. Someone who believed. Bu how?

Don’t forget to read the other’s takes on the prompt. More stories go up throughout the day. Be sure to check our page on Facebook for updates as everything becomes available: WonHundred Words.
