The window slammed shut

Welcome to Wednesday’s flash fiction wherein I write, as part of a group, a flash fiction based on the same short prompt and post the story. I hope you enjoy this week’s contribution.

The glass rattled in the frame as it slammed. Never good. Worse when the house wasn’t your own. Turning, a man stood next to the window. I’d checked. The room’d been empty.

“You’re not easy gain an audience with.” He snapped, a wisp of light forming above. A mage then. That explained the appearing act. And the tidbit leading me here.

I shrugged. “I considered an advertisement, but it seemed poor taste.” I glanced around warily.

“Don’t worry. They family sleeps. I have work for you.” He said.

“Listening,” I said. I’d rob the place when he was done yapping.

Don’t forget to read the other’s takes on the prompt. More stories go up throughout the day. Be sure to check our page on Facebook for updates as everything becomes available: WonHundred Words.
